Bootleg Asylum Radio Show
Episode #0052 (11/20/2009)

“Heaven & Hell’s Holy Diver”

This weeks featured bootleg set is a 40 minute FM broadcast of DIO from 1984. In 1979, after leaving Rainbow, Dio joined Black Sabbath, replacing Ozzy Osbourne. They released the successful Heaven and Hell album, which revitalized the band’s career. It was during his time with Black Sabbath that he popularized the “devil’s horns” gesture. In 1982, the mixing of the live album Live Evil led to Dio and drummer Vinny Appice quitting the band to form the band Dio.

Also featured is a 3 song block from: Arise Within.

Other artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Chaos Theory, Goatsnake, Gearshaft, Chris Walker, Bad Season, Thin Lizzy, G.G. Allen, Hank 3, The Black Keys, AC/DC, and more.

From now on the Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, Onemorename will be mostly taken all requests from you! If needed, I will fill in some of the requests. Send all requests to my email (Howard@section86.com) or Myspace Page in a comment/message during the week and I will play all requests!

“THC ~ Pride Of Texas”

This week, instead of a bootleg set, I feature the entire album from Texas Hippie Coalition called Pride Of Texas. Tearing from the heart of Texas, THC assaults every one of your senses, burrowing into your skull with heavy as hell riffs, thundering bass, drums that kick you hard in the stomach, and vocals that tear your face off. You’ll hear THC and wonder why the hell they aren’t megastars…Well the answer is…they soon will be..!

Also featured is the new album from Joseph Christ called “Hillbilly Motherfucker” which I play 3 songs from.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Hank 3, Steve Miller Band, Red River Revival, Kill Van Kull, The Blasters, Bloody Honkys, ShadowRealm, JB Beverly and the Wayward Drifters, and more.

“Texas Is Its Own Country’s Country”

This weeks bootleg set was recorded on 6/21/2009 by Mike Kerr at the Sportsman’s Tavern in Buffalo, NY featuring “Lucky Tubb and the Modern Day Troubadours“. Lucky Tubb, who currently is opening for Hank III & Assjack, is the great nephew of the legendary honky tonk singer, Ernest Tubb. Ernest was one of the biggest stars in country music history who amassed no fewer than 82 hits between 1944 and 1979. Poor ol’ Lucky is going to enjoy about 82 hits fewer than that, not because he’s bad, in fact he’s good, very good, but he suffers from the modern day syndrome of being too country. Let’s be honest, his Uncle Ernie would be laughed out of Nashville nowadays with his chiseled looks and un-CMT vocals delivery. Lucky Tubb is very much his own man. He’s lived a troublesome life and has his own story to tell. He’s toured as opening act for Dwight Yoakam, Ray Price and Hank III but on this listening, I think he’s gonna be the headliner pretty soon.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Wicked Society, Pegazus, Graham Greene, Romancing The Devil, Scarlet Sins, Southern Spirit, Automan.ca, Angry Hank, Fanny Adams, Texas Rifles, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

“Can Somebody Give Me A Damned Ole Cigarette”

This weeks Bootleg will be featuring an OLD SCHOOL Hank III and the Damn Band country set from 2001.  This bootleg was recorded in a local bar behind the Grand Old Opry after Hank III’s TV appearance on that show. Plus I play a couple more songs from an earlier 1999 bootleg.

Also I feature 2 three song blocks of music; one set from Deep Purple and the other set from Buzzkill.

Other artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Popa Chubby, Broken Family Band, Bar Fly Blues Band, Boss Kean’s Ditch, Gringo, Junior Brown, Hickoids, Ryan McGarvey, Gov’t Mule, Zane Campbell and the Gravel Pit Ramblers, and more.

“Voices Of Unholy Sorrow & Strings Of Ancient Melodys”

This weeks Bootleg will be 40 minutes from a vintage Black Sabbath set.  Recorded in 1975 at the Convention Hall in Asbury Park, NJ., this show featured songs from their Sabotage album.  Also I play 3 song blocks of music. One set from the newest Melvins album “Nude With Boots”. The second set is from a vintage Bon Scott era AC/DC, recorded in 1979 in Holland. The final set is from a never released Hank III album that Curb Records won’t give up rights to called “This Ain’t Country”.

Other artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Kill Van Kull, The Answer, Inquisition, Arson Anthem, Red River Revival, and more.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0024 “Cupid Killers”

It Burns When I Pee
Episode #0024 “Cupid Killers”

We put our own personal spin on that pathetic commercial holiday known as Valentines Day. Get Your Hank On Studio was packed as Blake, Norma Jean, Creepy Guy, and our new buddy Jahshie P (from Outlaw Radio Chicago) set up shop behind the mic and cranked out EP24 “Cupid Killers”. Heck we even had Destiney standing watch over the crew.

In this episode we give you what you all have asked for: MORE MUSIC! We play tunes from Split Lip Rayfield, Hank 3, Johnny Cash, Porter Hall Tennessee, The Steeldrivers, Bob Wayne and the Outlaw Carnies, and many more. We are even going to premiere “Blake’s Song” which was written by our very own host Blake Clayton and preformed by his out of state crush Little Lisa Dixie.

Our great friend Howard, from The Bootleg Asylum Radio Show, wrote and produced this months skit called Open Crotch Necklace. We thank Howard for doing all the work on this skit because we know how it would have ended up if Blake would have wrote it. HA HA HA! We also have a couple of voicemails from some of our fans, and a special song by Blake’s niece, and of course Norma Jean is going to read some fan feedback (we tried to have her do it before the booze kicked in but…). We also call Creepy Guys girlfriend on the phone… Sarah Bear was so excited she couldn’t even talk!

We talk about some new albums that are coming out in the next few months, some shows that IBWIP will be attending in March, and Norma Jean unlocks the secrets of her SEX DRAWER! It was a great time and the live vidstream, “Pee-A-Vision” turned out really good as well.

Come on in to the dirty stalls of IBWIP and join us as we stick the middle finger up at POP COUNTRY and Valentines Day!

Don’t forget to get those camera’s out folks… you gotta get in on this months giveaway!

Broadcasted on WLLZ (the WHEEL) in 1984 from Harpo’s in Detroit, Michigan. This is a great show with Bachman-Turner Overdrive LIVE in the MotorCity; a classic blue collar rock!
