It Burns When I Pee Episode #0027 “Bitter”

It Burns When I Pee
Episode #0027 “Bitter”

Well we knocked the rust off the mixer (and it shows) and are back to bring you EP27 of It Burns When I Pee. This episode features a DOUBLE interview with Rachel Brooke and Lonesome Wyatt to promote their new album “A BITTER HARVEST”. We chat with each of them to get their take on the project and play a couple songs from the album. It was great having them both back on the show. If you haven’t went and ordered the CD yet, your missing out.

We are also playing some great music from Hogscraper, Scott H. Biram, The Calamity Cubes, Lucky Tubb, Dwight Yoakam, and The Perreze Farm.

Of course Blake and Norma Jean continue their raunchy ways as they discuss: Why some girls smell down there, Norma Jean‘s broken vibrator, Fan Feedback, NTBNTBBTOB’s plastic surgery, and we even chat with our ol pal from Outlaw Radio Chicago.

We have a couple voice mails, contact information, and of course Norma Jean Watches Porn (Blake screwed up on the levels just to warn yall). So come hang out in the dirty stalls of It Burns When I Pee… we are glad to be back and reveal some exciting news about the show and upcoming episodes!

“Dead Or Indifferant”

No bootleg set this week. Instead I am featuring the GREAT; mostly unknown artist Johnny Jessup. Jessup began to sing and play his guitar, poorly, in a mobile home parked in Texas. This was quite a while ago. He served admirably in 2 Austin bands of the early emo’s period in Austin (Loud Posse and Horsethief). He went off on his own to play a low form and mixture of blues and country and raucus roll. He plays old, beat-up guitars, either acoustic or electric, either standard tuning or slide. Lots of people don’t like his shit or maybe they just don’t care. Some people like it alright, he guesses, but whatever. He recorded an album called Dead or Indifferent?, which contains 12 examples of what-the-fuck-ever it may be that he plays. You might be able to get a copy of it if you leave a message on his site.

Also I feature two 3 song blocks of music by 29 Mules and Honky Tonk Hustlas.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Swampslide, Hells Fire Sinners, Chaos Theory, Wolfscreek, Wylie and the Wild West, Pastorpastor Blues Band, Boss Kean’s Ditch, Memphis Cradle, VooDoo Vegas, The Amplifiers, Warpath, SwamDaWamp, and more.

The Boss started building his live music legacy in the 70s, and despite an E-Street hiatus during the late 80s/early 90s, he hasn’t lost a step!

“Texas Is Its Own Country’s Country”

This weeks bootleg set was recorded on 6/21/2009 by Mike Kerr at the Sportsman’s Tavern in Buffalo, NY featuring “Lucky Tubb and the Modern Day Troubadours“. Lucky Tubb, who currently is opening for Hank III & Assjack, is the great nephew of the legendary honky tonk singer, Ernest Tubb. Ernest was one of the biggest stars in country music history who amassed no fewer than 82 hits between 1944 and 1979. Poor ol Lucky is going to enjoy about 82 hits fewer than that, not because hes bad, in fact hes good, very good, but he suffers from the modern day syndrome of being too country. Lets be honest, his Uncle Ernie would be laughed out of Nashville nowadays with his chiseled looks and un-CMT vocals delivery. Lucky Tubb is very much his own man. Hes lived a troublesome life and has his own story to tell. Hes toured as opening act for Dwight Yoakam, Ray Price and Hank III but on this listening, I think hes gonna be the headliner pretty soon.

Artists on this weeks Bootleg Asylum Radio Show include: Wicked Society, Pegazus, Graham Greene, Romancing The Devil, Scarlet Sins, Southern Spirit, Automan.ca, Angry Hank, Fanny Adams, Texas Rifles, Frank Zappa, Jimi Hendrix, and more.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0023 (07/01/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0023 (07/01/2009)

On July 1st, The Hank in Chains Show will feature BR549 frontman Chuck Mead‘s first solo album Journeyman’s Wager. While there are hints of BR549 in spots, the Ray Kennedy produced album finds Mead exploring his many musical influences. A little CCR here, a little Beatles there, and even a little Springsteen. Yet, the album is a cohesive rockin’ country force, and a record of the year contender.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Lucky Tubb, Muddy Waters, The .357 String Band, Louis Jordan, Hank Williams III, Songs from the Road Band, Warren Zevon, The Rolling Stones, The Hackensaw Boys, Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Cornpone.
