The White Trash Revival Episode #0080 “The Fnckin Truckin Episode”

I remember my freshmen year at Ohio State when I didn’t have any money so I started working the night shift at the truckstop. Going to class all day and working all night, I couldn’t get no sleep and my grades started to diminish so I did what any good matured teenager would do; I acquired a nasty crystal meth habit. With meth, who needed to sleep? But after a while my truckstop pay wasn’t cutting it. So to get extra income, I worked the interstate as a lot lizard and wow did the money come rolling in. Man those were the days… So on this episode, I dedicate to all you truckers out there especially those of you that fed my meth habit and blazed my back with hot juicy 6 ropers. Get your favorite rot gut and enjoy all the mother truckin songs by Scott H Biram, Peewee Moore and the Awful Dreadful Snakes, Junkrod Joe and the Cadillac Hearse, Stan Cox, Truckstop Preachers, Dale Watson, Bob Wayne, Lisa and her Kin, Gin Palace Gesters, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Cogswell, Otis Gibbs, Them Damn Young Livers, Mule Skinner Jones, Mike Penny and his Moonshiners, and The Whiskey Daredevils.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0029 (12/03/2009)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0029 (12/03/2009)

This week on The Hank in Chains Show, we will feature The Songs from the Road Band‘s new album, “As the Crow Flies”. While the term “underground supergroup” may be a musical oxymoron, in the case of the Songs from the Road Band, it makes perfect sense. Luckily for us, the hodgepodge of Asheville, North Carolina bluegrass all stars appears like it won’t stop recording or performing any time soon. “As the Crow Flies” is, in our opinion, the best bluegrass album of 2009. You won’t want to miss this week’s show!

Other music this week from: Bruce Springsteen, The Who, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, The Low Anthem, The Gutter Twins, Jerry Cantrell, Led Zeppelin, Neil Young, Those Poor Bastards, John Lennon, Joey Allcorn, and The Gin Palace Jesters.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0014 (09/24/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0014 (09/24/2008)

Episode 14 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature one of the greatest, and darkest, albums in the history of music: Bruce Springsteen‘s 1982 release “Nebraska”. Originally intended to be recorded as a full E-Street Band album, Springsteen instead decided to release the album as it was recorded: a collection of solo acoustic home recordings. A dark road trip across the economically depressed Great Plains, “Nebraska”, with its sometimes desperate characters, is a unique listening experience… especially with all of the lights turned off. Eric Morningstar and Jared Morningstar will examine this masterpiece of a recording, and discuss why it’s so memorable… even for people who don’t generally enjoy Springsteen‘s music.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Old Crow Medicine Show, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Hard Left, Dana Fuchs, Warren Zevon, Jordan Zevon, Justin Townes Earle, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Omar and the Howlers, The Smokin Bandits, and Eddie Cochran.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0010 (08/20/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0010 (08/20/2008)

Episode 10 of The Hank in Chains Show explores the world of underground country music… the styles of country music damned by corporate Nashville. The artists played on this episode aren’t CMT trash. Instead, regardless of the style of country they write and perform, their music still has soul… the same kind of country soul that Hank, Lefty, Cash, Merle, and Waylon possessed. They are also the artists that would perform as part of a revived Louisiana Hayride… the Opry’s old rival in the 40s and 50s. While no one knows if this revival will ever happen, this week’s episode of The Hank in Chains Show displays how strong such a show would be.

Artists/Bands Featured include: Hank Williams III, Dale Watson, The Gin Palace Jesters, James Scott Bullard, Songs from the Road Band, Hot Club of Cow Town, The Straight 8’s, Justin Townes Earle, The Hackensaw Boys, Brian McGee and The Hollow Speed, Those Poor Bastards, Wayne Hancock, Robbie Fulks, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, and many more!
