The Song: Inside and Out Episode #0005 “Paul James”

I have had a bucket list of people that I have wanted to interview over the past 8 years and my guest for this episode, Possessed By Paul James, was at the top of that list. A longtime friend of IBWIP, Brooklyn Hellbetty, requested we ask him to discuss his song “The Color Of My Bloody Nose” from his 2010 release “Feed The Family”. In the interview he talks about what inspired him to write the song, the amount of requests for the song he still gets, and much more. He also talks about his late start into music, and how he would explain this song to his children when they get older. I could have talked to PPJ for hours but his 4 year old son wanted to play legos and that was a good enough reason to wrap up the interview in my book. It was a perfect example of a man with the right priorities. It was an honor to finally have the chance to talk to this amazing songwriter, musician, and all around person in Possessed By Paul James.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0160 “Viscous Discus”

Whiskey Chaser and “The Voice” Dustin join us again to pull off one of our best shows in awhile. We have music from Possessed By Paul James, Matthew “Mule” McKinley, and Jeff Shepherd and The Jailhouse Poets. Blake talks a little about the Hub City Music Festival and Jason thinks his locks of love are going to lead into Blake’s mom to fall in love with him. We celebrate 1000 Facebook likes, and by hash tagging #thevoice Dustin gets the attention of Adam Levine.

Blake cracks open his 3 year old “I love being awesome” energy drink. We go through a couple new stories which include a girl in England who wants more money from the government, two English teachers have sex with a 16 year old student, and an Eagles fan steals a guys leg.

Blake finds some interesting posts on Craigslist that he thinks the guys will enjoy and we show our music knowledge with a game of “It Burns When I Sing”. Come join the fun and tell a friend about the show.

Well folks, after a tornado, the flu, and a whole mess of issues, IBWIP is BACK! In our first LIVE episode in almost 2 months we jam out to Possessed By Paul James, The Devil Makes Three, Lucky Tubb, Urban Pioneers, and Hickory Hawkins.

Nurse Courtney, Mollz, and 1st Lieutenant Admiral of Sector 12.75 of The Rebel Alliance Jason come out the box with tons of great laughs. We talk about Jason becoming a business owner, Duck Dynasty, and the flu. We also have special guest, Pro Wrestler Cock Strong in studio. A salty game of Would You Rather and a lot of talk about asses round up the show.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0116 “Worlds Worst Terrorist”

In this episode Blake is joined by Fly Ninja Jason, Mollz, and new comer Courtney. We spin UNRELEASED music from Call Me Bronco, and new music from JD Wilkes & The Dirt Daubers, Possessed by Paul James, Rachel Kate, Michael Rank and Stag, and The Harmed Brothers.

Blake talks about his trip to Christyfest II, including his impromptu role as a TSA employee. Blake and Mollz also take a trip to Olive Garden and it doesn’t go well. Jason goes to Portland where there are tons of polite people, and we get a World Series update from our sports anchor Tedd Muffins. We also play a special Thanksgiving edition of Stay In Character. A listener provides Jason with an interesting alternative for his nickname, and Blake talks about his awesome performance in bed the night before.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0069 “Pissin on Swedes”

In this episode of IBWIP, Amish BJ, Coldbeer, and myself dedicate the show to our good friend who is going through a hard time right now. She is more like family and we sure are pulling for her. We spin music from Lone Wolf OMG, Trampled by Turtles, Rattlesnake Deer, Possessed By Paul James, Violent Femmes, and Sons of Perdition.

We also crown the 2012 King of Muddy Roots. We even call him up and present him with his newly bestowed honor. We also discuss a few of our favorite Muddy Roots memories; which includes how Hobo Hiatus laid the smack down on those two annoying Swedes. Blake discusses his mixer woes, how Mollz “attempted” to provide assistance, and how Coldbeer knows how to solve all of Amish BJ’s problems 95% of the time.

In our “Stupid People Doing Stupid Things” segment, we discuss a stupid Hong Kong Millionaire’s attempt to buy his lesbian daughter’s straightness. Blake is disgusted that there are two Asian women that look so unattractive! We sling some fan feedback and present a new show intro and contact information.  There is tons of laughs in this episode and we would love to have you come on into the dirty stalls of It Burns When I Pee.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0062 “The Songwriter Series Vol 1”

IBWIP is going through some changes. We start it off by recording our first ever LIVE episode. I first want to thank www.silentstormradio.com for letting us use their live Veetle feed. We are also going to start releasing 2 shows a month, and shorting them up a bit. This episode is our first of a series of shows that focus on songwriters. We were honored to have Tyler Gregory as our featured guest. He is an amazing songwriter who recently had a unbelievable experience with a young blind and autistic boy which was captured on video and it went viral. We also spin tunes from Possessed by Paul James, Olds Sleeper, and Soda Gardocki. In this episode, we talk about why music is so important to our lives (Amish BJ even admits to crying), do Stupid People Doing Stupid Things, and Coldbeer reads fan feedback. We get a live call in from Reverend Nix and Amish BJ points out Blake again requests to have his ego stroked.

We are looking to work out the bugs that come with doing the show live but this ended up a lot better than we were expecting. We are going to continue to raise the bar and bring you the best podcast that we possibly can. Thanks as always for your support.

Episode #0050 “4 Years of Making People Poo” Anniversary Special

Well another year has passed here in the dirty stalls of IBWIP. In this special extended addition of IBWIP we have a ton of great music and special guests to help us celebrate our 50th episode. Amish BJ takes his normal seat as Blake’s right hand man but really did a lot of extra stuff to make this episode special and I want to give a big shout out to him and thank him right off the bat. During the show we also have some awesome people sit down with us and share the mic. Sean Phillips from What Would Sean Do, Jashie P from Outlaw Radio Chicago and Last False Hope, as well as a very special sit in by the one and only Uncle Bubba. Yes, folks that is right, Uncle Bubba is back and him and Amish B.J really kick Blake’s ass throughout the show! We were also honored to have Professor KAK come in and give us an educated look at IBWIP and it’s effect on modern culture. This segment with Professor KAK actually lead to the name of the episode being changed to it’s current title “4 Years of Making People Poo”.

To even begin to describe what all is in EP50 would take way too long to type (and I am one lazy S.O.B). It would also ruin all the surprises! We can tell you though that The Christy Boys make an appearance; Uncle Bubba, Amish BJ, and Blake become prophets; Sean tells us why his job kicks ass; and Jashie P gives us some breaking news! We also give listeners all the details on Cocker’s cousin Peter and how to have him come to visit your town!

Put what matters the most (as it always has for 4 long years) is the music and we play a ton of it. More songs than I think that we have ever played on an episode of IBWIP. We spin new music from Slackeye Slim, Curst Sons, Rachel Brooke, The Honky Tonk Hustlas. Along with songs from The Blind Staggers, Whiskey Clan, The Wild Boars, The Glass Child, Old Sleeper, Those Darlins, Possessed by Paul James, and Aran Buzzas.
