It Burns When I Pee Episode #0057 “Hay Is For Horses, Loveless Is For You”

2012 is going to be a big year for IBWIP and it starts with our first episode of the year. In this episode we feature an interview with Bloodshot Records recording artist Lydia Loveless. In the interview we discuss the new album, Indestructible Machine, as well as her song writing process. We also talk about the inspiration for her song “Steve Earle” as well as a bunch of other topics.

Besides playing a triple shot of Lydia, we also spin tunes from The Meat Purveyors, Scott H. Biram, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, Scroat Belly, Mekons, Justin Townes Earle, and Dexter Romweber Duo. All these artists have been or are a part of the Bloodshot Records catalog. But we don’t stop there. As always we bring you some great laughs as well.

In this episode we continue our new segment, “Stupid People Doing Stupid Things.” This is a don’t miss! Amish BJ updates us on Christyfest, drinks a 4 Loco, and fights with Mr. Ed for air time. Our darling Coldbeer Coley continues to get  more comfortable with each passing show. 3…2…1…CONTACT! She reads Fan Feedback, admits she likes to ride “horses” and her Mr. Ed story is actually a short one! Blake realizes he is an asshole, gets interviewed for his presidential campaign, and confesses he is a “minute man”.

Come on over to the all new IBWIP.com and download episode 57. Tell your friends, family, and enemies where you find the best podcast on the interweb.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0025 “Lights, Camera, Action!”

It Burns When I Pee
Episode #0025 “Lights, Camera, Action!”

This episode can only be described as “Three Girls and One couch!” Norma Jean, Sarah Bear, and Mrs. X were hanging out with Blake and Creepy Guy to record EP25 of It Burns When I Pee. Lets just say the wine and spirits were flowing and they had a great time. In the latest edition of the show we featured an interview with Bloodshot Records recording artist, Justin Townes Earle. This was only the 2nd face to face interview in IBWIP history! We will be playing three of Justin’s songs and giving away an autographed copy of his new album, “Midnight At The Movies”.

In this episode we also reveal the winner of the IBWIP EP24 Photo Contest. We had alot of great entries (though one has been taken down off our myspace page). We will be unveiling the new Mr. Wong’s Dong’s skit as well as give you some bathroom etiquette from our good friend Barely from Barely Podcasting. The gang talks about our recent encounters with “Johnny Law”, retarded people having big wieners, and so much more. We suggest you listen real close because you might find out something about Creepy Guy and Sarah Bears… umm… well you’ll hear it. We also bring back Norma Jean watches porn as she watches a Creepy Guy favorite. And who can forget Norma Jean and her fan feedback. Will she do it sober? You’ll have to find out. Creepy Guy even watches “How To Have Sex In A Car” and gives his two cents about the experience.

Along with some Justin Townes Earle songs we will also be playing tunes from Buck Owens, William Elliot Whitmore, Gram Parson, John Lee Hooker, Jack of Fire, and Neverland. We got it all here in EP25 of It Burns When I Pee’s “Lights, Camera, Action”.

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0018 (11/19/2008)

Episode 18 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature the music of Kris Kristofferson. While his whiskey and cigarettes voice has prevented him from achieving the kind of stardom that his contemporaries Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings enjoyed, Kristofferson has always been the superior writer. A Rhodes Scholar, few songwriters in the history of music have had his masterful lyrical ability.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: John Fogerty, The Black Keys, Willie Phoenix, Townes Van Zandt, Chris Duarte, Black Gasoline, Warren Zevon, Hank Williams III, Dave Arcari, The Drive-By Truckers, John Prine, Those Poor Bastards, and Justin Townes Earle.

The Hank in Chains Show Episode #0014 (09/24/2008)

The Hank in Chains Show
Episode #0014 (09/24/2008)

Episode 14 of The Hank in Chains Show will feature one of the greatest, and darkest, albums in the history of music: Bruce Springsteen‘s 1982 release “Nebraska”. Originally intended to be recorded as a full E-Street Band album, Springsteen instead decided to release the album as it was recorded: a collection of solo acoustic home recordings. A dark road trip across the economically depressed Great Plains, “Nebraska”, with its sometimes desperate characters, is a unique listening experience… especially with all of the lights turned off. Eric Morningstar and Jared Morningstar will examine this masterpiece of a recording, and discuss why it’s so memorable… even for people who don’t generally enjoy Springsteen‘s music.

Artists/bands on this week’s show include: Old Crow Medicine Show, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Hard Left, Dana Fuchs, Warren Zevon, Jordan Zevon, Justin Townes Earle, Whitey Morgan and the 78s, Omar and the Howlers, The Smokin Bandits, and Eddie Cochran.
