Kara Clark has been a long time friend of IBWIP and when we heard that she had a new EP, The Key, we couldn’t wait to have her on again. We talk about the new album and it’s conception. Kara also talks about her struggles keep pushing forward in her career and some of the roadblocks that she has experienced. She talks about being a single mother and the support that her kids have given her in the last year. We talk about the positives and negatives of touring, if in fact “Nobody” was inspired by Chris Miller (of Blue Ribbon Radio) and myself, and which of the Golden Girls she likes the best. Kara also talks about her pitbull and if there will ever be a reprise of her song “The Highway”. Make sure to keep an eye out for the new EP coming soon and enjoy two songs off that record on this episode.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0103 “An Interview with Kara Clark”

We have had a lot of return guests on IBWIP over the years, but Kara Clark is one of our favorites. Kara has a new self titled album, a new label, and a new career plan. So we put on our sunglasses, opened a box of wine, and brought her back into the dirty stalls of It Burns When I Pee. In the interview we talk about social media, her hatred for her own song Highway, and her famous lazy dog Baxter. Kara talks about her new relationship with Rusty Knuckles and their vision on how to develop her career. She describes the events that lead her to writing the song “Wake Up”.  We also discuss her dream of having her own line of wine and our good friend Chris Miller from Blue Ribbon Radio.
