We are so glad to be able to release this episode. In the past couple months we have hung out with our featured artist Billy Cook and have gotten to get to know him better. In the interview we discuss Billy’s time playing with Bob Wayne as well as .357 String Band. We also discuss his solo album, “Left To Remember”, as well as his recent tours with Graham Lindsey and The Calamity Cubes. Everything from his song writing process, his tree tattoo, and his high school band “SHIT” is covered as well. Come join us and get to know Billy Cook like you never have before.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0164 “Sassy Scientist”

This episode features our friends Brett Conlin, “The Voice” Dustin, Whiskey Chaser, and Locks of Love Jason. We play music from Lou Shields, The Louvin Brothers, and Billy Cook.

The show begins with Blake confronting Brett about a “kiss” that happened or didn’t happen between him and Molly. Blake has audio evidence of the torrid affair and uses the guys to decide whether to believe Brett or Molly.

We also have the 2nd installment of the new IBWIP Spaghetti Western. Will Sheriff Dick Justice get Peggy’s leg back from Dastardly Dirk or will the town of Hatchet Wound Texas be overran by outlaws. This leads to a discussion about picking up girls with or without wooden legs. Blake decides to set up a merch stand and reveals how he won the heart of Molly.

Finally we welcome to the show 3 scientists from North Dakota who have been experimenting with Ebola. Jason and Brett quickly lose all control of the interview as the 3 scientists talk about snorting Ebola, The Beastie Boys, AIDS, and much more. This is one of the craziest most out of control interviews ever!

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0139 “Summer Safety”

It’s an all boys event on this episode of IBWIP. Jason and Blake welcome back Brett Conlin into the studio to co-host as well as perform a song. We also spin tunes from Billy Cook, 7 Horses, Sleeping Orchard, Clint Darnell, and The Bootstrap String Duo.

Summer is upon us and we thought it would be great to have safety expert Carmella Fettuccini back on the program. She talks about hydration, sand in your junk, and what SPF sun screen to use. We also play a couple brand new games on the show including IBWIP Speakeasy and Punch It Up. Brett reads some news stories about a taxi driver with tickets to the World Cup and a dieing Beagles bucket list.

We have a baby announcement and Blake talks about him and Mollz going camping after the wedding. During the story Blake becomes increasingly paranoid and jumpy, afraid of who or what could be behind him. Brett shows us his talents as impersonating an Irish pirate and Jason opens up about why Nurse Courtney hasn’t been on the show.

It Burns When I Pee Episode #0137 “An Interview with Graham Lindsey”

What do you do when Graham Lindsey sends you a Facebook message and says he has a new album coming out and if you want a copy? Damn right you say HELL YA! Then when he messages you again and says he is coming through town you say, “FUCK YA!” So that is how it got started… I have never been so nervous to do an interview as I was on this one (and it shows). Sure we had Graham on EP63 but that was different, it was over the phone. Here I was sitting right next to, in my opinion, one of the greatest songwriters of our generation. In the interview, we talk about his new album, “Digging Up Birds: A Collection of Rarities and Others”, where the songs came from, and what has kept him busy the last year or so. We also talk about Old Skull, the punk band he was in when he was 12 years old. Graham sets the record straight about a false Wiki Page statement. We talk about him and his wife Tina (who is the most awesome gal in the world!), along with his current tour with Billy Cook. It’s a great interview and I was honored to be able to spend some time with Graham and his wife while they were in town.

P.S. I also learned that I cannot record worth a crap in that huge room at The High Note; so thanks to Brody Wellman of Carrie Nation and The Speakeasy for making that audio listenable.
